Resident manager: Job description

The resident manager position is the link between Surfescape global management team and the local team in Zanzibar.

The resident manager is expected to be managing a limited number of local employees, ensure the best experience for our guest and take part in shaping our local strategy for the months to come.

Number of rental unit 10 (maximum guest number 30), Employees 15-20

• Ensure smooth check in and check out procedures and guest experience during stay
• Handling reservations and accounting on daily bases
• Reporting to head office
• Answering guests on phone and WhatsApp
• Managing local staff
• maintenance planning, execution and reporting.
• Selling and organizing excursions, transfers, kite and all our services
• Cooperating with local authorities
• Organising F&B (breakfast, snack or drinks during the day).
• Hiring staff

Ideally fluent in English, Swahili, any Eu language is a plus. Previous work experience in Zanzibar is mandatory. Excellent communication skills, good leadership skills, readiness to cope with unexpected circumstances.
